A wave of recent research efforts demonstrates promising potential of Large Language Models (LLMs) in solving a wide range of software engineering tasks such as code completion, unit test generation, code comprehension, bug detection and repair, code review, and many more. The first workshop on advances of GenAI in Software Engineering (GenAISE 2024) aims to establish a forum for researchers to present and discuss recent advances in GenAI and their applications in Software Engineering and implications in industry and education.
The GenAISE 2024 workshop addresses the use of advanced LLMs for software engineering, and the challenges, approaches, and future directions. We invite the submission of original papers on all related topics related to GenAISE, with special interest in but not limited to:
- Applications of LLMs in the software development lifecycle
- Prompt Engineering
- Automated bug detection, localization, and repair with LLMs
- LLMs for software documentation and code comprehension
- Reliability of LLMs generated code
- Software security and vulnerability concerns
- Ethical considerations and biases in LLMs applied to software engineering.
- Integration of LLMs in software engineering tools and frameworks
- LLM-based approaches for software testing and quality assurance
- Implications on computer programing education and computer science curriculum
- Fine tuning
- Implications on the software engineering role in the industry
